PROJECT SYNOPSIS
To accommodate the dynamic growth within the City of Orange City, a new larger fire station was needed to serve the community. Protecting the structures and people in their community required additional equipment which the old fire station could not accommodate. The new facility provides space for maintenance of the equipment, planned future additions to the fire department, and included training space for the fire department to hone their skills in firefighting and rescue.
MECHANICAL:
- Radiant floor heating in the apparatus bay.
- High efficiency boilers.
- VAV air handling system to condition office and meeting room spaces.
ELECTRICAL:
- A natural gas generator provides full building backup for the facility, allowing the facility to be used as a community resource during large emergency responses.
- Automated lighting controls and integrated door access equipment allow the volunteer fire department members access to gear during an emergency response in an effort to deploy emergency services as quickly as possible.
